At Vassendsetra, we have made a system where you pay for food and accommodation either through DNT’s Hyttebetalingsapp (that uses Visa/Mastercard), via online banking or with PayPal. Accommodation can also be booked in advance via the link above.

We have chosen these alternatives to make it fairly easy to pay both for Norwegians and international tourists. We recommend tourists from abroad to use PayPal, as this is much smoother than internet banking when processing international payments. There is no internet at Vassendsetra, and therefore you have to pay when you get back to a place with internet connection. If you install DNT’s Hyttebetalingsapp, prior to getting to Vassendsetra (while you still have internet access), you will be able to register food and accommodation through the app, and then pay once you get back online.

We have created our own payment form at Vassendsetra (look at the picture below to the left), and we want everyone to fill in the form, regardless of the chosen form of payment. The form is divided into two parts. In the upper part you enter personal information, information about membership in a tourist association (if you are part of such an association), protocol number, arrival and departure date. Upon arrival, it is very important to register yourself (and everyone in the group) in the protocol. You can find the protocol in the main cabin. In the protocol, you will find the protocol number on the row you used to register yourself. Enter your protocol number (and any other people you pay for) in this form.

Then tick off to choose how the accommodation and food is paid for. Tick off that accommodation is prepaid through the booking system if that is the case. If you have not booked through the booking page, you choose to pay using online banking, PayPal, or DNT Hyttebetaling.

The next part is a table where you list the foods you eat during the stay. If you do not have enough space, feel free to use a 2nd form to list the rest (or use the back side of that form). Fill in info about the number of nights / day visits and price according to the price list. If you are both adults and kids, and the table is not suitable enough, you can use the back of the form. At the bottom of the table, sum up everything.

Part two contains payment information. A dotted line has been made between part one and part two. In the lower part, transfer protocol number, arrival date, and total amount from the upper part. Now you have enough info to complete the payment when you return from your trip.

Tear the form into two parts across the dotted line. Put the upper part of the form in the «mailbox» in the main cabin (look at the picture below to the right). Bring the lower part home to pay. Whether you pay with DNT Hyttebetaling, online banking or PayPal, you must specify the protocol number and arrival date in the payment message/description. This makes the job much easier for us later on. Thank you for your understanding.
